The Story of Kirunafestivalen

For the eleventh summer in a row, the Kiruna Festival will be drumming up a popular festival on a large scale. With 85 000 visitors 2009, the festival consolidated its position as one of the biggest and best summer festivals in Sweden.

The festival is the northernmost in Scandinavia, and the only one held north of the Arctic Circle in Sweden.

The Kiruna Festival brings with it a certain joie de vivre, rocking your body every bit as much as the biggest volley of explosions in the nearby mine.

When other festivals are rigging up lightning, we light the midnight sun. When other festivals are building their big sets in front of shopping centre, we take the Kebnekaise massif as our backdrop.
